Race Day!

Well, it's the morning of the Running of the Elves​ 2015!  So far we have 375 runners registered.  If you want to run, registration opens today at 3pm.  Everyone that registers gets a swag bag and event shirt. 

Elf HQ is at Mitchell Community College, 500 W. Broad Street, Downtown Statesville.  Once you get close you can't miss us.  Plenty of parking on campus.  See you there.  Race start 3pm sharp.

Hello Everyone.  Don't forget online registration closes Thursday Night at Midnight.  Registration will open at 4pm to 6pm Friday at Mitchell Community College main campus. We will also have early bag pick up at this time. 

Saturday registration and bag pick up will open at 3pm.  Costume contest at 4:15pm and the race will start at 5pm sharp.

Weather Update Register

Hello Everyone,

The weather looks perfect for the race.  Sunny and 50 during the day, low of 30.  Race time temps are perfect with a zero percent chance of rain. 

Register tonight to get your shirt at bag pickup and check in.  Everyone will get a shirt, those that register after tonight may have to come back and pick theirs up.  We will order extra shirts, but those will be first come first serve.  Thanks and we look forward to seeing you Saturday evening!

Latest Updates for the Race!

Hello Everyone,

Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving!  We are getting ready for the Running of the Elves 5k and 10k 2015.  Everyone who registers by midnight tonight will be able to pick up their shirt at the event.  Everyone who registers after midnight will get a shirt, you may have to come back and pick it up.  EVERYONE WILL GET AN EVENT SHIRT.  Registration links are below with the schedule.  You can also register in person at Early Bag Pick Up or at the Event (and yes you will still get a shirt). 

This year our gift bags will have: Free Blooming Onions, the best Event Shirt, coupon from Thorlo, coupon from Chick-Fil-A.

INDEPENDENCE DAY 5K AND POOL ACTIVITIES FOR THE DAY

Hello Everyone,

Saturday is a huge day at the pool.  

First is the Independence Day 5k.  3.1 miles that courses through the Baymount Subdivision.  Runners/walkers will rule the road, very little or no traffic to worry about.  After you run, feel free to jump in the pool and cool off.

Second is the neighborhood parade at 10am.  Residents decorate their lawnmowers, cars, golf carts and anything else that rolls to parade through the neighborhood.  

And the BIG event.  11am the pool opens for the annual Independence Day Bash.  Hot-dogs, candy and chips are all only a quarter ($0.25), yes you read correct.  The dogs will be ready around 11:30 and games will start between 1-2pm.  Games are: balloon toss, pie eating contest, swim for money, BIG SPLASH - really big splashes, and the belly flop, very impressive.  

Hope to see everyone there for a fun day at the pool.

Come out and enjoy a great 5k in Statesville.  7-4-2015 at 8am, Independence Day 5k.  The course winds through the Baymount Subdivision.  Very low traffic and a great course.  All entries get full use of the pool for the weekend and can enjoy the Independence Day party.
