YOU MUST REGISTER BY 11/26 TO GET AN EVENT SHIRT.  A very cool long sleeve shirt!

All registered runners and walkers will receive a gift bag.  Included will be a free Outback Steakhouse gift card for an appetizer and other items. 

We also have door prizes, costume contest prizes and more!

I was recently informed that the registration page for the run had an error with the shirt selection.

I have corrected this error and you should be able to register now. The event is $25 which INCLUDES: Long Sleeve Event Shirt, Free Outback Steakhouse Appetizer, and several other items and gifts.

Information for Elves, 2018

Good Evening Everyone. 

THANK YOU TO ALL OUR SPONSORS.  With out them, we would not be able to have this event!  

KEEP IN MIND THIS EVENT IS IN THE EVENING/NIGHT ON CITY STREETS.  We suggest wearing bright / easy to see, clothing. 

PLEASE PARK IN THE BACK PARKING LOT AT Mitchell Community College (address below).  There are several events in the area on Saturday, we want to be respectful of others.  Do Not park in the Broad Street Methodist Church parking lot, or on Broad Street in front of their facility.

Those who register for the 5k and will be receiving the runner bag that will have a t-shirt (based on registration status), free appetizer from The Outback of Statesville and other items. We have ordered a few extra shirts and we will give those out on a first come basis.  These are in limited supply please keep that in mind. We also have shirts from the past couple of events we are selling for $5 each. 

The Outback of Statesville has also donated the awards for the best dresses/costumes!

Info Update

Registration will be open until 8am 11/26/2018. Those who register by then will be guaranteed an event shirt.  Online registration will be open until midnight 11-28-2018.  Anyone wishing to register after 11-28 will need to do so at early pack pick up or on Race Day.  Race Day registration will be $30.  Register early to be guaranteed a shirt and save $$.

With the event being held at night, we need to keep safety first.

Stephanie Kastor Chapman Memorial Scholarship

The mission of the RUNNING OF THE ELVES 5K/10K is to become a catalyst of hope in the lives of local families and in the activities of charitable organizations who have financial needs. Beginning with the 2016 race and going forward, the profit from each race will be donated to a local family or charitable organization in our community. 

This year we are very proud to announce we will be donating all proceeds from the event to the Stephanie Chapman Memorial Scholarship Fund.  Please help us support this fantastic cause.

The course has been posted in the pictures folder.  The course is flat and goes through Downtown Statesville with all the Christmas lights and decorations.  We will have awards for overall and age groups.  There will also be door prizes  and give-a-ways.  Each entry will get a gift bag with a style shirt and some surprise gifts. 

The race is on December 2nd, 2017 5:00 pm.  The race will be run through downtown Statesville, NC, at night.

The Running of the Elves, is a 5k and 10k Race in Downtown Statesville NC.  The race will start at 5pm sharp.  The course is almost flat and goes through historic Downtown Statesville and the neighborhoods surrounding.  Many off the houses will be decorated for Christmas and there will bystanders all along the course to cheer you on.  Each year we have almost 500 runners, so you konw it is a good time.

This year we have chosen the Todd Burden family as the race’s beneficiary. Todd Burden is the campus pastor at Statesville Christian School and director/founder of InBounds Ministries, Inc. Todd has impacted the lives of students and adults across the United States and abroad throughout his ministry. Todd is currently undergoing chemotherapy and radiation for cancer. Please join us as a runner, sponsor or volunteer for the 2016 Running of the Elves race and help us bless a special family in need this holiday season.

Prior to the race we will have a costume contest.  There will be many people who really go all out, you don't want to miss that.

All those who would like to compete in the 10k, you will need to finish the 5k in under 35 min.  At the 35 min mark we will close the 10k chute and all runners will be required to cross the finish-line.

Hello Everyone.

Thanks to Outback of Statesville and Budget Blinds for supporting us again this year!

Registrations are coming in quickly.  Make sure and register early to be guaranteed and event shirt.  Only thing we will tell you is that it is long sleeve.  If you have ran with us before, you know the shirts are OVER THE TOP COOL!

Elves, 2016 Updates

Hello Everyone. 

Here is the latest update.  Registration is open and signups are doing very well.  The link to the registration page is below on the last post.  You can also search for it on Active.com.  If you have any questions please email me, I am happy to help. 

I have spoken with the City of Statesville and our course is confirmed and is the same course as last year.  Our only change is runners wanting to run the 10k will need to finish the 5k with in 35 min to continue on to finish the 10k.  At 35 min. we will divert all runners to the finish line.
